Texas Hold'Em - Effective Strategies For Beginners

You can play poker for fun as well as to make money. If you are playing it with your friends for fun, then you can use this opportunity to learn new hold em up strategies. You will not have any fear of losing anything so you will be able to learn and implement new strategies.
When you are starting the game, you will be starting at low a low limit generally. So at this time, you will need a basic strategy which will beat the game. With time, you will be able to pile up the stocks and you will also have to improve your strategy. But to start with, always use this strategy. You should remember that it is easier to beat the game in the middle limit rather than at a low limit. So while you have set the limit to low, you need to be more careful with the strategy. Also, the strategies that are a success formula at the higher limits will not help you when you are at a low limit. This will result in a loss. So whatever your limit is, use a different strategy according to that limit.
Dividing the hands into categories will help you to easily understand the different strategies. Normally you should categorize the hands into three i.e. draws, big Paris and milking hands. A top pair, or say it an over pair will mean that you have a 'big Paris'. When you have this hand, you will be able to make it very costly for the others to draw out. This so because you have a very strong hand and you are in a great defending position. The thing that you need to remember is that the big Paris hand is most effective when the number of opponents is not high. If the opponents are fewer in number, then you will have a great chance to win the game with this hand.
Similarly the other two hand types need different strategies. For example the draws mean that you do not have the best hand and you need cards to improve your situation. With this kind of hand, you would ideally want to have more opponents as it will increase the chance of infrequent hits.
So whatever type of hand you have, you need to have a definite strategy and for every hand, your strategy will depend upon the number of opponents.
